COMPUTER AIDED ENGINEERING (CAE)- ACTUAL CASE

Based on a CAD drawing the approximate value of the FEA model was developed. At the same time the gear wheel was divided into many small, but finite elements in which single solutions are calculated numerically. With the given conditions between the contact points of the elements (the nodes), the total structure is simulated and can be calculated using the FEA software package.

As shown in the previous example, the symmetry conditions can be taken into account in order to save calculation time. In this example, only one tooth of the gear wheel has been considered. Test results which are indicated by the colored contour shades show the deformations and stresses of the structure.

The stress in the contact area of one tooth of the gear wheel can also be depicted.
